The Draaimolen Festival in Tilburg is known for its unique combination of electronic music, art installations and natural surroundings. The location is an old military complex in the middle of a forest, giving the visitor a very unique experience.
For the 2023 edition the organisation approached Toprek Rigging BV to investigate the possibilities for flying light fixtures around the the PIT area. The idea of this light design was formed by The Children of the Light, a duo of Amsterdam-based visual artists: Christopher Gabriel (1980, Oslo) and Arnout Hulskamp (1978, Amsterdam).
Toprek Rigging supplied their 3D Flying By Wire system to make this dream of The Children of the Light come true. An astonishing experience was given to the audience when strobe lights, moving heads and lasers flew with high speed over their heads.
